EP 547-2 lacquer

Color - golden, used for solid-drawn cans
EP-547-2 is golden, elastic, with characteristics which are identical to EP 547 lacquer, but has more plastic properties. It can be used for solid-drawn cans 1, 2, 3.  

The lacquer is intended to protect all types of split can tare outside and inner surfaces and covers made of white tin of electrolytic and hot-dip tinning. EP-547-2 is golden, elastic, with characteristics which are identical to EP 547 lacquer, but has more plastic properties. It can be used for solid-drawn cans 1, 2, 3.  

After polymerization at t = 210 - 215 °C lacquer is made with glossy golden coating within 15 minutes, it is steady to boiling and sterilization in hostile environment.
It is used as a unit with R-30 thinner, coated by lacquering machine of rolling type, consumption according to solid residual – 4,5-5,5 g/m2 .

Technical characteristics
1.    Appearance of the lacquer
Homogeneous transparent fluid from dark-yellow to reddish-brown color, light opalescence is permitted.
2.    Appearance of a film
After drying the lacquer becomes of a homogeneous glossy film extraneous mechanical impurities.
3.    Viscosity by viscosimeter VZ-246 with nozzle diameter of (4,000±0,015) mm at t° = 20,0±0,5°Ñ: in the range of 90-140 sec.  
4.    Mass concentration of nonvolatile substance: 36-43%
5.    Film strength at stretching: 7mm
6.    Film strength at stamping: without damages of coating strength
7.    Film capability to be sterilized at t° = 120±2°Ñ, per hour, no less than:

in distilled water - 1
      in 3% sodium chloride brine solution – 1
      in 2% tartaric acid solution – 1
      in 3% acetic acid solution – 1
     
8.    Film adhesion before and after sterilization, points, no more than: 11
9.    Mass concentration of chemical substances in solution containing 0,5% of acetic acid and 2% of sodium chloride brine after sterilization of lacquer` film and isolation in model environment within 24 hours at t = 40±2°Ñ, mg/dm3, no more than:  

Formaldehyde – 0,1
Phenol – 0,05
Dyphenilolpropane - 0,01
      Epichlorhydrin - 0,1
      Lead salts - none

10. Lacquer film resistance to model environment after sterilization and isolation in thermostat at t° =  40±2°Ñ: 10 days
11. No porosity
12. Dry time to 3 degree at t° = 210-215°Ñ: no more than 15 minutes
